The Court:- Affidavit of service filed on behalf of the petitioner be kept on record.

In spite of service, none appears on behalf of the respondent authorities. Petitioner applied for licence of MR dealership in pursuance to a vacancy notification dated 1st March, 2024 issued by the Sub-divisional Controller, Food and Supplies, Gangarampur. Application of the petitioner was accepted online by giving him application i.d. on 25th April, 2024. The proposed shop-cum-godown of the petitioner was inspected by the concerned inspector of SCFS on 29th May, 2024. The petitioner was called on for an interview by the District Level Fair Price Shop Selection Committee where he appeared. Thereafter, suddenly the petitioner came to know from the relevant portal of the department that the candidature of the petitioner was rejected without assigning any reason. The petitioner promptly approached the

principle secretary as well as the director, DDP&S for considering his representation dated 25th June, 2025.(Annexure P6 of the writ petition). In spite of receiving such representation, the authority concerned has not responded to the petitioner.

Hence, this writ petition.

Having heard the learned counsel for the parties and considering the approach of the petitioner that he is one of the applicants whose grievances were not ventilated properly, accordingly, I am of the view that the concerned respondent authority being Food and Supplies Department, Government of West Bengal must respond to the representation of the petitioner being annexed P6 of the writ petition.

Under the above observation, the instant writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the Director, District Distribution Procurement and Supply, Food and Supply Department, Government of West Bengal being respondent no. 3 of the writ petition, to dispose of the representation of the writ petitioner dated 25th June, 2024 within 4 weeks from the date of communication of this order after giving a reasonable opportunity of being heard to the petitioner. Decision of the authorities shall be communicated to the petitioner within four weeks thereafter.

Under the above observation, the writ petition is disposed of.

This Court has not entered into the merits of this matter. Respondent no. 3 shall independently dispose of the representation according to law without being influenced by any observation of this Court. Since no affidavits are exchanged between the parties, allegation made in the writ petition shall be deemed to have been not admitted. (SUBHENDU SAMANTA, J.) Arsad
