The Court: This is a formal application for extension of time for making and publishing the award. Although the arbitral proceeding commenced before the amendment of 2015, a formal application has been filed by the petitioner on the ground that the High Court on the earlier occasion had extended the time to make and publish the award for six months commencing from February 16, 2024.

It is submitted that the six months period came to an end sometime in August, 2024. Under such circumstances, prayer has been made for further extension.

Considering the substantial progress which has been made in the proceedings and the fact that the matter is at the stage of argument of the respondent, this Court is of the view that this is a fit case where the mandate should be extended.

Accordingly, AP-COM/755/2024 is disposed of by extending the time to make and publish the award by the learned arbitrator by a further period of six months from date of communication of this order to the learned Arbitrator.
