The instant writ petition has been filed, inter alia, praying for a direction upon the assessing officer to dispose of the petitioner's rectification petition dated 10th August, 2022. 2.

Having heard the learned Advocates appearing for the respective parties, I find that in the instant case though a rectification order was passed on 31st July 2021 in respect of the assessment year 2018-19, the petitioner appears to have applied for further rectification of such order. 3.

Such application as acknowledged by Mr. Mitra, learned Advocate representing the Income Tax Department assisted by Mr. Sharma is still pending.

Having regard thereto I am of the view that the concerned respondent should hear out and disposed of such rectification application expeditiously as preferably within a period of four weeks

from the date of communication of this order by passing a reasoned order upon granting an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner. 5.

Petitioner shall be at liberty to rely on additional documents/representation at the time of hearing. 6.

The writ petition is, thus, disposed of.
