... for UoI The writ petitioner has applied before the Rent Controller in case no. C-17878 for withdrawal of rent for two separate periods from August 2018, September 2018 to December 2018; January 2019 to September 2019; October 2019 to December 2019 and January 2020 to July 2020. The application has not been disposed of till date. In that view of the matter, the Rent Controller, Kolkata, shall dispose of the application of the writ petitioner in accordance with law and in terms of applicable Rules within a period of one month from the date of communication of a copy of this order.

With the above directions, the writ petition is disposed of.

It is made clear that the Court has not entered into the merits of the claims of the petitioner and the Rent Controller shall decide the matter in terms of the statute and after compliance of principles of natural justice.
