The Court : The present application has been filed by the petitioner seeking extension of time for the arbitral tribunal to conclude the arbitral proceedings and publish the award under the provisions of Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that this Court vide order dated 30th August, 2022 appointed Mr. Rishad Medora as the sole arbitrator for adjudication of the dispute between the parties. The said arbitrator conducted ten sittings, after which, upon an application filed by the petitioner, this Court vide order dated 24.09.2024 appointed Mr. Rupak Ghosh as the sole arbitrator and extended the timeline for a further period of eight months from 09.10.2024.

It is submitted that under the present arbitrator, eight hearings have been held and pending applications have been disposed of. Since the mandate

of the arbitral tribunal expired on 8th June, 2025, the petitioner has filed the present application seeking further extension of time for conclusion of the arbitral proceedings and publication of the award. None appears for the respondent in spite of notice being served upon the respondent. Affidavit of service has been taken on record. In view of the submission made and considering the stage of the arbitral proceedings, the time for conclusion of the arbitral proceedings and publication of the award is extended for a further period of eight months from today. With the above observations and directions, the present petition being AP-COM No. 675 of 2025 stands disposed of.
