The petitioner seeks cancellation/revocation of the development agreement coupled with the power of attorney which was registered before the registering authority. The registering authority has refused to accept the deed of cancellation/revocation sought to be filed by the petitioner. A detailed representation by the petitioner before the Registrar of Assurances, Kolkata is pending consideration. 2.

Without entering into the merit of the claim of the petitioner, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the Registrar of Assurances, Kolkata, being the respondent no.4 herein, to consider and dispose of the representation filed by the petitioner in accordance with law at the earliest, but positively within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order. A reasoned order shall be passed and communicated to the petitioner.

If the prayer of the petitioner is accepted, necessary consequential steps shall be taken without any delay.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order be supplied to the parties, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all legal formalities.
