...for the respondent The Court: Both the parties are represented. The joint prayer is for extension of the Arbitrator's mandate under Section 29-A of the 1996 Act. Learned counsel submits that the relaxation to the period of limitation under the general and the special laws given by the Supreme Court in the suo motu writ petition from February, 2020 to February, 2022 can be taken advantage of by the parties. The one year, hence, under Section 29-A(1) ended

on 30th October, 2022. The learned presiding Arbitrator thereafter extended the period for six months and that period ended on 30th April, 2023. It is also submitted that evidence and arguments are complete and the learned Arbitrator is only to deliver the Award. AP/388/2023 is, accordingly, allowed and disposed of by extending the mandate of the arbitral tribunal for three months from communication of this order on the tribunal.
