...for the petitioner The Court: Despite service, none appears on behalf of the respondents. Affidavit of service is taken on record. This is an application for extension of the mandate of the learned arbitrator. The mandate expired on July 16, 2025. The seat of arbitration is Kolkata. The learned arbitrator was appointed by this Court and the subject matter of dispute is a loan agreement which contains an arbitration clause. The loan was disbursed from Kolkata.

Under such circumstances, and in view of the jurisdiction clause, this application is maintainable before this Court. The mandate expired on 16th July, 2025. The arguments are complete.

Considering the progress made, this Court directs that the mandate should be extended by a period of four months from communication of the order to enable the learned arbitrator to make and publish his award. The application is accordingly disposed of.
