1. The order dated 24th July, 2025 passed by the Registrar of Trade Unions, West Bengal is placed before this Court.

2. Upon hearing the submission made on behalf of the petitioner, one Partha Pratim Mohanta the complainant before the Registrar of Trade Unions, West Bengal, Indian Statistical Institute and the Staterespondents, it appears that an election is required to be conducted for constitution of the Workers' Union in the Indian Statistical Institute. The tenure of the Committee which was functioning expired on 15th June, 2025. At present, there is none to look after the functioning of the Union.

3. In view of the above, the instant writ petition stands disposed of by directing the Registrar of Trade Unions, West Bengal to take all necessary steps to ensure that the election of the Union is conducted

in accordance with law at the earliest, but positively within a period of six weeks from the date of communication of this order.

4. The writ petition stands disposed of.
