The Court : The present application has been filed under Section 29A

(4) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of time for the learned Arbitral Tribunal to conclude the arbitral proceedings and publish the arbitral award.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that this Court vide order dated 08.05.2023 appointed the sole arbitrator to adjudicate the dispute between the parties. With the consent of the parties, the mandate of the arbitral tribunal was initially extended upto 04.02.2025. Thereafter, the petitioner approached this Court in AP No. 34 of 2025 and by an order dated 28th January, 2025, this Court was pleased to further extend the mandate of the tribunal by a period of eight months.

It is further submitted that the arbitral proceedings are presently at the stage of final argument and that the mandate of the arbitral tribunal has expired on 02.10.2025. In these circumstances, the petitioner seeks a further extension of eight months to enable the learned Arbitrator to conclude the proceedings and publish the award.

Learned counsel for the respondent does not have any objection to the extension of the mandate of the arbitral tribunal. Considering the fact that the arbitral proceedings are at an advance and concluding stage, this Court deems it appropriate to extend the mandate of the learned Tribunal for a further period of eight months from the date of communication of this order.

With the aforesaid observations and directions, the present application being AP-COM No. 773 of 2025 stands disposed of. (GAURANG KANTH, J.) KB AR(CR)
