The petitioner prays for extension of time to enable the learned arbitrator to make and publish the award. Learned Advocate for the respondent does not object to the extension, but submits that the delay occurred due to the failure of the claimant to take proper stapes. Although, such contention is denied by Mr. Banerjee, this court is of the view that the parties must cooperate with the learned arbitrator to enable the arbitrator to proceed effectively and expeditiously.

Considering the fact that the matter is at the stage of framing of issues, the Court is of the view that this is a fit case for extension of time to enable the learned arbitrator to make and publish his award within a reasonable period. Under such circumstances the time to make and publish the award is extended by a further period of one year from the date of communication of this order to the learned arbitrator. Accordingly, AP-COM/874/2024, is disposed of. All parties to act on the basis of server copy of this order. (SHAMPA SARKAR, J.) gb
