The Court: Let the affidavit of service filed by the petitioner be kept on record.

Despite service, Respondent No. 9 is not represented. The writ petitioner seeks the implementation of a demolition order dated August 18, 2021, passed by the Special Officer (Building) concerning Premises No. 36, Pandit Purusottam Roy Street, Ward No. 42, Borough-V, under the Kolkata Municipal Corporation. The petitioner's grievance is that although the demolition order was issued long ago, the Corporation has failed to take any further steps to demolish the relevant construction.

Learned counsel appearing for the Corporation, upon instruction, submits that due to a discrepancy in the demolition sketch

map, the Corporation should be granted an opportunity to rectify the sketch map, enabling the implementation of the demolition order. In light of the above, I find no justification for keeping this writ petition pending. The Corporation is directed to prepare a rectified or fresh demolition sketch map within four weeks from the date of this order and to take necessary steps to implement the demolition order dated August 18, 2021, in accordance with the law.

The Officer-in-Charge of the Burrabazar Police Station shall provide the necessary assistance to the Corporation in implementing the demolition order.

Accordingly, WPO/997/2024 stands disposed of. (KAUSIK CHANDA, J.) A/s.
