The Court:- The petitioner has filed the present application under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seeking extension of the mandate of the arbitral tribunal for concluding the arbitral proceedings and publication of the award.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that this Court vide order dated 12.12.2023 had appointed a sole arbitrator for adjudicating the dispute between the parties. The pleadings were concluded on 08.04.2024. With the consent of both the parties, mandate of the arbitral tribunal was extended for a period of six months till 06.09.2025.

It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the proceedings are at the stage of evidence. In view thereof, learned counsel for

the petitioner prays for extension of the mandate of the arbitral tribunal. Learned counsel for the respondent states that she has no objection to the extension of the mandate.

Upon consideration, this Court is satisfied that there has been no undue or unwanted delay on the part of the learned sole arbitrator for conducting the proceedings.

Accordingly, the mandate of the learned sole arbitrator is thereby extended for a period of six months from today. The learned sole arbitrator is requested to ensure that the arbitral proceedings are concluded and the award is published within the extended time.

With the aforesaid observation, the present petition is disposed of. The affidavit of service is taken on record.
