...for the petitioner The Court: This is an application filed by the petitioner under Section 29-A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seeking extension of time for concluding the arbitral proceedings and publication of the award. Learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that with the mutual consent of the parties, the arbitral tribunal was constituted on 2nd January, 2023. The pleadings were completed before the tribunal on 16th June, 2023. The final arguments have been concluded on 11th August, 2025. Learned Counsel for the petitioner further contends that the present application seeks extension only for the purpose of publication of the award.

The proceedings have already been completed before the learned arbitral tribunal.

Upon consideration, this Court is satisfied that there has been no undue or unwarranted delay on the part of the learned arbitral tribunal in conducting the proceedings. The matter has already been heard and is presently listed for publication of the award. Despite service, none appears for the respondent. In view of the submission of the learned Counsel for the petitioner, this Court is inclined to extend the time period of the learned arbitral tribunal by a further period of six months from today for publication of the award.

The learned arbitral tribunal is requested to publish the award within the extended time period.

With the aforesaid observation, the present arbitration petition is disposed of.
