The Court: Affidavit of service is taken on record. The present application has been filed by the petitioner under section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seeking extension of time for conclusion of the arbitral proceedings and publication of the award. It is a case of the petitioner that this Court vide order dated 9th October, 2023, appointed a sole arbitrator to adjudicate the disputes between the parties. The pleadings were completed on 14th May, 2024. With the consent of the parties, the mandate of the arbitral tribunal was extended for six months. Presently, the mandate of the said tribunal has expired on 10th November, 2025.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the sole Arbitrator has already conducted twenty one hearings and the proceedings are at the evidence stage.

In view thereof, the petitioner has filed the present application for extension of the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal for a further period of six months.

Learned counsel for the respondent states that he has no objection to the extension of the mandate of the arbitral tribunal. Upon consideration of the submissions made by the parties and the materials placed on record, this Court is satisfied that there has been no undue or unwarranted delay on the part of the arbitral Tribunal in conducting the proceedings.

Accordingly, the mandate of the arbitral Tribunal is extended further for a period of six months from today. The learned sole Arbitrator is requested to ensure that the arbitral proceedings are concluded and the award is published within the extended time period. With the above observations, the present application being APCOM/854/2025 stands disposed of. (GAURANG KANTH, J.) Arsad
