...for the respondent The Court: The petitioner has filed the present application under Section 29-A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seeking extension of time period for conclusion of the arbitral proceedings and publication of the arbitral award.

It is the case of the petitioner that this Court vide order dated 13.04.2023 appointed the sole Arbitrator to adjudicate the disputes between the parties. The pleadings were completed on 12.06.2023. With the consent of the parties, the mandate of the arbitral tribunal was thereafter extended by a further period of six months up to 11.12.2024. Thereafter, this Court

vide order dated 20.11.2024 extended the mandate of the tribunal by a period of one year from the date of communication of the said order. Hence, the said timeline also expired on 21.11.2025. Learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that there have been 41 hearings and the matter is presently at the stage of conclusion of evidence. In view thereof, learned Counsel for the petitioner is praying for an extension of eight months for conclusion of the proceedings before the arbitral tribunal.

Learned Counsel for the respondent does not oppose the present application.

Upon consideration of the submissions and materials on record, this Court is satisfied that there has been no undue or unwarranted delay on the part of the Arbitrator in conducting the arbitral proceedings. Accordingly, the mandate of the arbitral tribunal is extended further for a period of six months from today.

The arbitral tribunal is requested to make all endeavours to conclude the arbitral proceedings and publish the award within the extended time period.

With the aforesaid observation, the present arbitration petition is disposed of.
