..for Petitioner(in person) The Court: The petitioner has preferred the present application under section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seeking extension of the mandate of the arbitral tribunal for conclusion of the arbitration proceedings and publication of the arbitral award. Learned counsel for the petitioner appears in person and submits that the sole arbitrator was appointed by an order dated 23.11.2023. With the consent of the parties, the mandate has been extended till 30.11.2025. It is further contended by the petitioner that the matter is presently at the stage of final argument. It is submitted by him that mandate of the arbitral tribunal had expired on 7th April, 2025. He seeks further extension of the mandate by six months.

Upon perusal of the record, this Court is satisfied that there has been no undue or unwarranted delay on the part of the learned sole arbitrator to conduct the proceedings. Having regard to the stage of the proceedings and in the interest of justice, the mandate of the tribunal is extended for a further period of six months from today.

Learned sole arbitrator is requested to make all reasonable endeavours to complete the arbitral proceedings and publish the award within the extended time period.

With the above observations, the present application being AP/193/2025 is disposed of.
