...for the respondent The Court: The petitioner has preferred the present application under Section 29-A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seeking extension of time period for conclusion of the arbitral proceedings and publication of the arbitral award.

It is the case of the petitioner that this Court vide order dated 22.12.2022, appointed the sole Arbitrator to adjudicate the disputes between the parties. The pleadings were completed on 18.05.2023. With the consent of the parties, the mandate of the tribunal was thereafter extended by a further period of six months up to 18.11.2024. Subsequently, this Court vide order dated 18.11.2024 extended the mandate of the arbitral

tribunal a further period of one year from the date of communication of the said order. Hence, as per the said order, the mandate expires on 25.11.2025.

Learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that the arbitral tribunal has conducted 21 hearings and the evidence has already concluded. She further states that the proceedings are at the stage of final arguments. Learned Counsel for the respondent states that she has no objection to the present application.

Upon consideration of the submissions and the materials on record, this Court is satisfied that there has been no undue or unwarranted delay on the part of the Arbitrator in conducting the arbitral proceedings. Accordingly, the mandate of the arbitral tribunal is extended for a further period of six months from today.

The arbitral tribunal is requested to make all endeavour to conclude the arbitral proceedings and publish the award within the extended time period.

With the aforesaid observations, the present arbitration petition is disposed of.
