The Court :

This writ petition has been filed seeking expeditious disposal of an appeal filed by the petitioner against an assessment order dated March 2, 2016 passed in respect of the assessment year 2013-14. It is submitted that the said appeal has been pending since the order year 2016.

Since it is evident from Annexure P-2 at page 25 of the writ petition that the said appeal had been filed before the Commissioner of Income-Tax (Appeals), Kolkata on March 28, 2016 and the same has been pending since then, in such view of the matter, this Court requests the Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals), Kolkata to consider and dispose of the petitioner's appeal within a period of four weeks from the date of communication of this order, in accordance with law.

WPO 840 of 2025 stands disposed of.

No order is passed as to costs.
