1. The petitioner seeks approval of appointment in the Scottish Church Collegiate School.

2. From the instruction forwarded by the District Inspector of Schools (S.E.), Kolkata dated 1st December, 2025, it appears that the District Inspector of Schools is not in a position to proceed with the matter as the school authority did not submit any report to the office on the issue regarding placement of departmental nominee in the ongoing Managing Committee of the school.

3. As it appears that the District Inspector of Schools has already issued prior permission for appointment, accordingly, the District Inspector of Schools ought to take all necessary steps to ensure that the process of appointment is concluded strictly in accordance with law.

4. The school is not represented in Court today.

5. In view of the above, the instant writ petition stands disposed of by directing the District Inspector of Schools (S.E.), Kolkata to take all necessary steps for approval of appointment of the petitioner strictly in accordance with law.

6. In the event the school does not cooperate with the District Inspector of Schools and does not furnish the records sought for, then the District Inspector of Schools shall take steps to collect the required documents from the school authority.

7. Steps shall be taken in the matter at the earliest, but positively within a period of twelve weeks from the date of communication of this order.

8. It will be open for the District Inspector of Schools (S.E.), Kolkata to call for a hearing of the parties prior to passing final order in the matter, if required.

9. Writ petition stands disposed of.

10. Instruction of the District Inspector of Schools (S.E.), Kolkata dated 1st December, 2025 is taken on record.

11. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all legal formalities. (AMRITA SINHA, J.) nm
