... for the respondent no.3 The Court: Learned counsel appearing for the Bar Council of West Bengal hands up several documents in support of his submissions that by a meeting held on 3rd September, 2022, the Bar Council of West Bengal through agenda nos. 3 and 6, resolved to do away with the requirement of publication in the Gazette for grant of provisional enrollment to law graduates in the State. Counsel further submits that 124 provisional enrollments have already been given and about 600 are left which will be processed within the next two weeks. It is further submitted that the original documents which are with the State Bar Council shall be returned

to the applicants within a fortnight from date. Counsel further submits that the required fee of Rs.1400/- and other related expenses for provisional enrollment has also been done away with. Counsel further submits that the resolutions taken in the meeting of the Council held on 3rd September, 2022 will now be accepted as the norm in the coming years. Learned counsel appearing for the Saraswaty Press submits that since the requirement of publication is no longer necessary, the cheque given by the petitioner of Rs.1400/- is being returned to the petitioner. The cheque is returned to the petitioner in Court today. Counsel submits that other amounts received from similarly placed law graduates in the State will also be returned provided the Gazette publication has not already been made.

The petitioner, appearing in person, submits that no other directions are required in the writ petition. It is also submitted that original certificates are not required for sitting for the All India Bar Examination. WPO/2399/2022 is accordingly disposed of in terms of the above. The Bar Council of West Bengal is expected to comply with the spirit of the orders and the specific directions passed therein, as indicated above.
