Parties have confirmed that the principal sum under the decree has been paid.

The decree holder has confirmed that it has no further claim on account of principal against the judgment debtor. However, on interest component, the decree holder has calculated that a sum of Rs.6,35,000/- is due and payable to the decree holder by the judgment debtor.

There is no agreed rate of interest.

Therefore, grant of interest is left upon the discretion of the Court. Exercising such discretion, this Court directs the judgment debtor to pay a lumpsum amount for a total sum of Rs.3,00,000/-, as interest, to the plaintiff by way of five equal monthly instalments. The first of such instalment shall be paid by May 15, 2026 and thereafter, all the balance instalments shall be paid on 15th day of every calendar month.

In the event of default of payment of any instalment, the total claim of Rs.6,35,000/- on account of interest made by the decree holder shall revive and the decree holder shall be at liberty to mention this matter before this Court upon notice to the judgment debtor. The judgement debtor shall pay costs of Rs.2000/- to the decree holder.
