...for the respondent The Court: The present application has been filed by the Petitioner seeking extension of time to renew and deposit the Fixed Deposit Receipt (FDR) with the Registrar, Original Side.
Learned counsel for the Petitioner submits that, in compliance with the order of this Court dated 08.01.2025, the Petitioner had prepared an FDR for a sum of Rs. 4,64,33,714/- in the name of the Registrar, Original Side, and deposited the same with the office of the learned Registrar, Original Side. The said FDR matured on 28.01.2026, whereupon the Petitioner was required to deposit the renewed FDR. It is further submitted that the Petitioner duly renewed the FDR with effect from 28.01.2026 and handed over the same to learned counsel on
24.02.2026. However, owing to certain personal difficulties, the renewed FDR could not be deposited within the time granted by this Court, and the stipulated period has since expired. In these circumstances, the Petitioner seeks extension of two weeks' time to deposit the renewed FDR. Having considered the reasons set out in the application and upon hearing learned counsel for the parties, this Court notes that the Respondent has no objection to the grant of such extension. Accordingly, the application is allowed.
The Petitioner is granted a further period of two weeks from today to deposit the renewed FDR with the Registrar, Original Side. Subject to the Petitioner depositing the said FDR within the aforesaid period, the interim order of stay on the operation of the arbitral award dated 05.01.2026 shall continue.
It is further noted that the Petitioner had been directed to file the paper book, which has not yet been done. Learned counsel for the Petitioner undertakes to file the same within a period of four weeks. Accordingly, GA-COM/1/2026 stands disposed of. (GAURANG KANTH, J.) S. Mandi AR(CR)
