...for the respondent The Court: This is an application for extension of the Arbitrator's mandate under Section 29-A(4) of the 1996 Act. The parties agree that the one year under Section 29-A(1) was completed on 30th March, 2023 and the parties thereafter proceeded on the extension under Section 29-A(3) of six months which however was given earlier by a Minutes dated 26th July, 2022. The one year plus six months gets over on 30th September, 2023. The present application was filed on 8th September, 2023. The Court is informed that the cross-examination of the respondent's witness is presently continuing and that the parties will proceed to arguments thereafter.

Considering the fact that the arbitration commenced from 2020, AP/659/2023, AP/660/2023, AP/661/2023, AP/662/2023 and AP/663/2023 are disposed of by extending the learned Arbitrator's mandate for a period of seven months from 30th September, 2023.
