...for the respondents The Court: This is the second application for extension of the learned Arbitrator's mandate under Section 29-A of the 1996 Act. The Court had extended the earlier mandate by an order dated 21st June, 2023 for a period of four months. The four-months will expire on 17th October, 2023. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioners/ claimants in the arbitration submits that the Award may not be made within the extended period of time since there are several witnesses who have been examined in the

proceeding. Counsel, however, submits that the witness action is complete and the parties are making their arguments at present. After hearing learned counsel and reiterating the fact that the reference started from 10th July, 2019, the mandate of the learned Arbitrator is extended, hopefully for a final term, for three months from 17th October, 2023. AP/673/2023 is accordingly allowed and disposed of in terms of the above.
