The Court:- The petitioner is aggrieved by the manner in which the Corporation has assessed the municipal tax in respect of flat no. 6E, Embassy Building, Premises No.4, Shakespeare Sarani, Kolkata - 700 071. A representation was filed before the Corporation demanding justice. The same is yet to be considered and disposed of. Petitioner submits that the Corporation ought to have assessed the taxes in accordance with the direction passed by this Court in the earlier writ petition filed by the petitioner carried in appeal by the Kolkata Municipal Corporation. Learned advocate representing the Corporation seeks time to take instruction in the matter.

As it appears that the notice demanding justice is pending consideration before the Corporation, accordingly, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the Chief Manager, Revenue [South] to take a decision on the said representation in accordance with law, after giving reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner to produce all relevant documents in her support and thereafter pass a reasoned order and communicate the same to the petitioner.

Decision shall be taken in the matter at the earliest, but positively within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order. Learned advocate representing the petitioner is directed to forward a copy of the legal representation dated 18.02.2023 along with all documents in support of her claim to the aforesaid respondent at the time of communicating the order of the Court.

Writ petition stands disposed of.
