The Court:-The Kolkata Municipal Corporation records two separate dates of birth of the petitioner. One is 30.11.1991 and the other is 30.11.1992. According to the petitioner, his correct date of birth is 30.11.1991. A representation was made before the respondent authority seeking correction of the date of birth. As there was no response from the end of the Corporation, the petitioner approached this Court by filing the present writ petition. During pendency of the writ petition, a notice has been issued to the petitioner informing him to visit office with all relevant documents including the originals for settling the issue.

Learned advocate representing the Corporation submits that notice has duly been issued and the petitioner may visit the office with the original copy of the birth certificate so that the problem may be resolved. Upon hearing the parties as it appears that the petitioner has been requested to produce the original birth certificate, accordingly, the petitioner is directed to act in terms of the said notice and produce the original before the Corporation for taking necessary consequential steps in the matter. The writ petition stands disposed of.

Notice dated 06.10.2023 served by the Corporation upon the petitioner be retained with the record.
