The Court: These are the first applications for extension of the learned Arbitrator's mandate under Section 29-A(4) of the 1996 Act. The Court is informed by learned counsel appearing for the applicant that the 12 months from the date of completion of pleadings ended on 11th May, 2023 and the respondent gave its consent under Section 29-A(3) which also expired on 10th November, 2023.

The present applications were filed on 17th October, 2023. The Court is also informed that the claimant's witness is presently being examined.

After hearing learned counsel, AP/778/2023, AP/779/2023, AP/780/2023, AP/781/2023 and AP/782/2023 are accordingly disposed of by extending the learned Arbitrator's mandate for a period of seven months from 10th November, 2023.
