The Court: Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner was allotted parking space by the Port Trust in a portion of its area near the river Hooghly. This was done by a tender. The possession was also given. Since then the local miscreants owing allegiance to a leader of the ruling political dispensation started disturbing the petitioner and prevented it from collecting the parking fees. The police were also hand in glove with the miscreants. However, pursuant to orders passed by the Court in a similar matter, the police have taken steps and in the event of any such disturbance in future, the State may take appropriate action.

Learned Senior Advocate representing the State denies the allegations and submits that nothing remains in the writ petition as admittedly the disturbances which had been created are not there any more. It appears that the primary grievance of the petitioner has already been redressed by the respondent police authorities. Therefore, no further order need be passed in this regard. However, the police authorities shall keep sharp vigil at the locale so that no breach of peace takes place in the area. With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition stands disposed of.
