...for the respondent The Court: This is an application for extension of the mandate of the learned Arbitrator and the first time that the applicant has come before the Court.

Learned counsel appearing for the applicant submits that the mandate expired on 14th December, 2023 and the present application was made during subsistence of the mandate. The mandate also takes into account the additional period of six months under Section 29(A)(3) of the 1996 Act.

The Court is informed that the parties are yet to commence their arguments.

AP/854/2023 is, accordingly, allowed and disposed of by extending the mandate for four months from 14th December, 2023. The affidavit-of-service is kept on record.
