The Court: This is a first application for extension of the mandate of the Arbitrator. The mandate admittedly expired on 13th December, 2023 and the application was made before the expiry. Learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner, who is the claimant in the arbitration, submits that the evidence of the parties will commence shortly and accordingly prays for extension of 6 months for the Arbitrator to make the award.

Considering that the respondents are represented and learned Counsel submits that parties have already entered into a settlement and considering that the reference started on 19th April, 2021 and almost 3

years have passed since then, AP/855/2023 is allowed and disposed of by extending the mandate for 6 months from 13th December, 2023. (MOUSHUMI BHATTACHARYA, J.) mg
