The Court : Mr. Basu, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, submits that the order of the Disciplinary Authority dated August 24, 2021 has been challenged before the Appellate Authority by filing an appeal on May 23, 2022. The petitioner is an employee of the West Bengal Transport Corporation Ltd. (in short WBTCL). The Disciplinary Authority by the order dated August 24, 2021 imposed a find of Rs.20,170/- on the petitioner and directed the same to be paid in four equal monthly instalments. Mr. Basu, submits that since the appeal is pending for long the same should be heard and disposed of as expeditiously as possible. Mr. Chattaraj, learned counsel appearing on behalf of WBTCL, fairly submits that the appeal will be disposed of, as per directions of this Court.

Considering the submissions of the parties and the material placed on record this Court directs the respondent no.4/the Managing Director, WBTCL to dispose of the appeal by March 31, 2023 upon giving an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner herein. Let the order of the Appellate Authority be communicated to the petitioner within two weeks of passing thereof. With the directions aforesaid WPO/3378/2022 is disposed of. Since no affidavits have been directed to be exchanged in the present writ petition all the allegations contained therein are deemed not to have been admitted by the parties.
