The petitioner, by presenting this writ petition, inter alia, has prayed for exchange of lands and correction of records in connection thereto.

It has been submitted by learned advocate representing the petitioner that two brothers are holding separate piece of land bearing survey No.292/6 measuring an area of 0.5650 hectares and another land bearing survey No.292/5 measuring area of 0.5650 hectares under Ferrargunj Tehsil, South Andaman.

Both the brothers made representation dated 1st February, 2023, which according to the petitioner herein, is required to be considered by the Sub Divisional Officer, Sri Vijaya Puram, South Andaman, being the respondent no.2. 4.

Respondents are represented by learned advocate who has submitted that since a representation is made for exchange of lands and correction of records thereto, same may be considered in accordance with law by the respondent no.2.

Having considered the submissions made on behalf of the parties, the writ petition stands disposed of by directing the concerned Sub Divisional Officer, being respondent no.2, to decide the representation by passing a reasoned order by twelve weeks from the date of communication of this order after granting opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and all other interested parties. The decision to be taken by the respondent no.2 shall be communicated to the parties by two weeks thereafter.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the learned advocate appearing for the parties upon compliance of usual formalities.
