Mishra ... for the respondent February 09, 2026 [SR] Item No.19 This contempt application was filed alleging willful violation of a judgment and order dated November 28, 2019, passed by a learned Judge of this Court disposing of WPA/247/2019 filed by the petitioner herein. The operative portion of the said order reads as follows: "In that view of the matter, this writ petition stands disposed of with direction upon the respondent no.3 to proceed for supplying electricity to the petitioner in accordance with law and subject to compliance of all formalities by the petitioner, as early as possible, but not later than a month from date. If, however, the petitioner is not entitled to supply of electricity having regard to any provisions of the Indian Electricity Act, 2003, a reasoned order shall be passed and communicated to him within the aforesaid period."

From time to time, this application was taken up as can be seen from the orders recorded by the Court. Today, Mr. S. C. Mishra, learned advocate appearing for the respondent/contemnor says that the officers of the Electricity Department had inspected the petitioner's

premises and have found that earthing and wiring has been completed. The premise is suitable for being granted electricity connection. He says that, within three weeks from date, electricity connection will be provided to the petitioner, upon the petitioner paying the requisite charges to the department.

In view of the aforesaid, I see no reason to keep this application pending. The department shall positively provide electricity connection to the petitioner within three weeks from date.

CPAN/8/2020 is disposed of.
