Respondents Mr. KMB Jayapal ... for the petitioner Mr. V.D.Sivabalan ... for the respondents July 21, 2022 [MAM] Item No.32 The grievance of the petitioner is that the proceeding initiated by issuing of a notice under Section 202 (1) of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Land Revenue and Land Reforms Regulation 1966 is still pending.

Learned advocates for the petitioner as well as Mr. V.D.

Sivabalan, learned advocate appearing for the respondents submits that the proceedings may be disposed of within a specified time frame and direction may be passed upon such authorities to that effect.

The Tehsildar Port Blair being respondent No.3 herein is directed to conclude the said proceeding strictly in

accordance with law within a period of 8 weeks from the date of communication of this order.

This Court makes it clear that the claim and counter claim of the private parties in such proceeding has not been gone into and the Tehsildar will be free to take a decision in accordance with law.

With the above direction WPA 104 of 2022 stands disposed of without however, any order as to costs. (Hiranmay Bhattacharyya, J.)
