February 8, 2024 [SR] Item No.16 The petitioner has filed a writ petition for a direction on the respondent no.2, the Tehsildar, Port Blair to dispose of the proceedings pending before the Tehsildar in terms of the order passed by the Sub Divisional Officer on 2nd August, 2023 arising out of the First Revenue Appeal. The respondent no.2 is represented.

It is undisputed from the documents that the petitioner's application is pending before the Tehsildar since 10th November, 2020 pursuant to the order of remand dated 2nd August, 2019.

It is inconceivable as to how the Tehsildar could be sitting on the petitioner's application for more than three years without taking any steps in the matter.

The Tehsildar is hence directed to dispose of the application within a period of three weeks from today. WPA/124/2024 is allowed and disposed of in terms of the above.
