The petitioner is an encroacher of a particular piece of land seeks electricity connection. The petitioner applied for the same but no action has yet been provided. Hence, this writ petition.

Mr. Mishra submits that the application has already been rejected in view of the provisions of Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission for the State of Goa and UTs (Electricity Supply Code) Regulations, 2018, as the petitioner has not submitted the mandatory identity proof in support of his existence at the particular land. 4.

The petitioner under the said regulation is required to produce the ration card and the electoral identity card. 5.

The petitioner shall be at liberty to apply afresh for obtaining electricity connection upon production of all

necessary documents in strict compliance of the said regulation.

In the event, such an application is submitted by the petitioner, the Electricity Department shall consider the same and dispose it of positively within a period of four weeks from the date of receiving such application from the petitioner. 7.

In the event, the claim of the petitioner is rejected, the Electricity Department shall inform the same to the petitioner by a written communication with reasons within one week from the date of such rejection.

Since affidavits are not called for, the allegations made in this writ petition are deemed not to have been admitted by the respondents.

With the above observations and directions, the writ petition WPA/115/2025 stands disposed of, without any order as to costs.
