Sivabalan ... for the petitioner Mr. Salim Mohammed ... for the respondents April 29, 2022 [GNC] Item No. 2 The petitioner submits that the respondent No.2 has failed and neglected to grant reconnection in respect of consumer No.H2/8040 which was originally granted to the petitioner in respect of her premises situated at survey No.2/1 measuring an area of 200 square metres situated at New Pahargaon village, under Port Blair Tehsil, South Andaman District. The petitioner claims to be residing in such premises by building a residential house. It is submitted that the electric connection granted to the petitioner was disconnected by the authorities, for non-payment of electricity bills. Subsequently, the petitioner prayed for reconnection but the authorities have not taken any steps in this regard.

Aggrieved the petitioner has moved this Court for necessary orders.

It appears that the connection had been granted to the petitioner vide Consumer No.H2/8040 at her house at New Paharagaon village, Port Blair Tehsil. Some electricity bills and payment receipts, have been annexed to the writ petition. Such supply was disconnected.

Under such circumstances, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the authorities to grant reconnection and/or fresh connection as the case may be to the petitioner within one month from the date of compliance of all necessary formalities including payment of lawful charges. The electricity connection shall be granted in accordance with law and the court does not make any observations with regard to the merits of the contentions of the petitioner.

With the above directions, the writ petition stands disposed of.
