Application being CAN/2/2025 is taken out by the Administration of High Court at Calcutta including the Registrar, Circuit Bench of Calcutta High Court at Port Blair seeking extension of time as fixed by a Coordinate Bench in the order dated 3rd December, 2024 to take decision on the prayer of the writ petitioner for promotion to the post of Deputy Registrar (Protocol) in the Circuit Bench of Calcutta High Court at Port Blair.

Learned advocate representing the applicants submits that in terms of the direction of the Coordinate Bench, prayer of the petitioner was forwarded to the Registrar General, High Court at Calcutta and same was received on 5th December, 2024 and steps are being taken to place the same before the appropriate committee for taking decision. It is submitted that in order to complete the entire process further time is required. 3.

The writ petitioner is represented by learned advocate, who has submitted that steps are required to be taken

immediately since time fixed by the Coordinate Bench in the order dated 3rd December, 2024 has expired.

Having considered the submissions made on behalf of the parties, application being CAN/2/2025 is disposed of extending the time for a period of five weeks to complete the process of taking decision on the prayer of the writ petitioner seeking promotion.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the learned advocate appearing for the parties upon compliance of usual formalities.
