This contempt application has been filed by the petitioner, seeking compliance with the order dated December 4, 2024.

A perusal of the affidavit of compliance filed by the competent authority, the Tehsildar, Sri Vijayapuram, reveals that the primary direction of the court has been complied with. The original petition sought a specific action of the demarcation of the land. The compliance report, along with the submissions made by the learned advocate for the contemnor, confirms that this demarcation has been carried out.

While the learned advocate for the contemnor expressed dissatisfaction with the full compliance and sought further directions, the court's role in a contempt proceeding is to ensure that its original order has been obeyed. The order was narrow in scope, limited to the demarcation of the land. It is evident from the record that this specific act has been completed.

Therefore, I do not find any reason to reject the compliance report. To proceed with the contempt application would be to expand the scope of the original order, which is not permissible in these proceedings. The purpose of a contempt petition is not to address new grievances but to enforce an existing order.

Accordingly, I find that the order has been complied with. The contempt application, being Contempt Petition No. 18 of 2025, is hereby dropped. 6.

The court notes that the contemnor may have new grievances regarding the demarcation process itself, such as the accuracy of the survey or other related issues. If so, they are at liberty to pursue these matters by filing a fresh application or a separate proceeding before the appropriate competent authority, in accordance with the law.

The contempt petition being CPAN 18 of 2025 is thus, disposed of.
