Mishra ... for the respondents April 11, 2025 [SR] Item No.4 The present writ petition has been preferred challenging, inter alia, the inaction on the part of the respondents to grant electricity connection to the petitioner.

Mr. Alisham Venkatesh, learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in settled possession of the government revenue land as detailed in paragraph 3 of the writ petition (hereinafter referred to as the said land) and he is residing in the said land upon construction of a dwelling house. The petitioner submitted an online application for grant of electricity connection on 20th January, 2025 but the same has not been disposed of.

Mr. S. C. Mishra, learned advocate enters appearance on behalf of the respondents and prays for leave to file affidavit-inopposition. Upon hearing the learned advocates appearing for the respective parties and considering the materials on record, I am of the opinion that no useful purpose will be served by keeping the writ petition pending and the issue needs to be relegated to the competent authority.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of directing the respondents, particularly the respondent nos.3 & 4, to consider the petitioner's application dated 20th January, 2025 for grant of electricity connection and to take appropriate steps towards grant of electricity connection in favour of the writ petitioner, subject to compliance of all necessary formalities by the petitioner.

The above exercise shall be completed within a period of four weeks from the date of communication of this order. Urgent Photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, shall be supplied to the parties as expeditiously as possible, upon compliance of all formalities.
