Affidavit of service filed by the petitioner is taken on record.

The writ petition is filed for not providing electric meter connection to the house of the petitioner despite fulfilling all the requisite criteria as per policy decision of the respondent authorities.

The learned advocate representing the petitioner submits that the petitioner is occupying a piece of government revenue land measuring an area of 400 sq.mtrs. at the Laxmanpur village at Shaheed Dweep, under Port Blair Tehsil, South Andaman District and started residing there along with his family members and enjoying uninterrupted physical possession. The application was filed on 06.12.2025 for fresh electricity connection before the authority, but the same is yet to be dispose of.

Heard the submission of the learned advocate appearing on behalf of the respondents.

Considering the nature of the prayer made regarding providing electricity connection being essential amenities,

respondent authorities ought to have disposed of the application much earlier which has not been done and no proper explanation also can be found to that extent. 6.

Hence the respondent No is directed to dispose of the application as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of three weeks from the date by passing a reasoned order after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and or by providing electric connection to the premises, if otherwise the petitioner is found eligible.

Hence the instant writ petition is disposed of with the above direction.

Since no affidavit has been called for the allegations contained in the writ application are deemed to have been not admitted.

Parties are directed to act on the serve copy of this order to be downloaded from the official website of this court. 10.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, is to be given to the parties on priority basis on compliance of all legal formalities.
