Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that, the petitioner adopted a baby. The petitioner requires a fresh birth certificate to be issued in respect of such baby on adoption and naming of such baby on adoption.

He submits that, the respondent authority is requesting the petitioner to access a website portal on the internet which such portal is not functioning. He submits that, the written application should be considered and disposed of expeditiously. Respondent authority is represented.

In the facts and circumstances of the present case, in my view, interest of justice would be sub-served by requiring the respondent authority to consider and dispose of the representation of the writ petitioner dated April 03, 2024 within a period of a fortnight from the date of communication of this order to the respondent authority. Needless to say, the respondent authority will afford a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and will pass a reasoned order on the representation which he will communicate to the petitioner forthwith thereafter.

WPA/209/2024 is disposed of without any order as to costs. ( Debangsu Basak, J. )
