Representation appears to have been made by the petitioners to the Chief Secretary, Andaman and Nicobar Administration on 2nd February, 2021.

As it appears that the said representation is yet to be disposed of by the respondents, accordingly, no useful purpose will be served by keeping the writ petition pending.

The writ petition is accordingly disposed of by directing the Chief Secretary, Andaman and Nicobar Administration, being the respondent no.2 herein, or any other competent authority of the respondent authority

to consider and dispose of the representation filed by the petitioners strictly in accordance with law, at the earliest, but positively within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order. The said respondent shall pass a reasoned order and communicate the same to the petitioners immediately thereafter.

It is made clear that this Court has not entered into the merits of the prayer of the petitioners and all points are left open to be decided by the respondents at the time of consideration of the representation of the petitioners.

The petitioners are directed to forward a copy of their representation along with all supporting documents to the respondent at the time of communicating the order of the Court.

The writ petition being WPA/273/2021 stands disposed of. In the earlier order dated November 17, 2021 the name of the respondents has been inadvertently recorded. The respondent in the cause title of the order dated November 17, 2021 be read as the Lieutenant Governor and others.
