The petitioners' vehicles having been detained, the writ petition was preferred and were subsequently produced before the Indian Oil Corporation in terms of an interim order dated December 20, 2021 passed in the previous writ petition. However, learned counsel for the petitioners contends that the petitioners' applications for re-registration of the vehicles are yet pending and those may be expedited.

Learned counsel appearing for the respondent authorities points out that the respondent authorities have certain objections to such re-registration.

Be that as it may, since an innocuous prayer to which the petitioners are restrained themselves now is merely a direction for consideration of re-registration application expeditiously, WPA/250/2022 is disposed of by directing the respondent no.4

to decide on the petitioners' applications for re-registration of the subject matter vehicles as expeditiously as possible, giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioners and in accordance with law preferably, within four weeks positively.
