Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in settled possession. The petitioner applied for electricity connection which was denied. She submits that the petitioner is ready and willing to pay all the concerned charges and comply with all formalities for the electricity connection. Learned advocate appearing for the Administration submits that the petitioner is an encroacher. Since the petitioner is in settled possession, it would be appropriate to direct the authorities to supply electricity to the petitioner. The petitioner will comply with all requisite formalities for such purpose and bear all costs and expenses for the same. It is expected that the authorities grant electricity supply to the petitioner within four weeks from the date of the petitioner complying with the formalities and paying costs, charges and expenses thereof.

This order will not be construed to mean that the Court pronounced on the legality of the possession of the petitioner in

the land in question in any manner whatsoever. This order will also not prevent the authorities from taking appropriate steps for eviction of the petitioner, if they so entitled in law. WPA/289/2021 is disposed of.
