Mishra ... for the respondents (through virtual mode) June 12, 2025 [AKB] Item No.21 This writ petition is filed seeking direction upon the respondent authorities to provide electricity connection in the dwelling house of the petitioner standing on the part of the landed property bearing Survey no. 161, measuring an area of 0.71 Hectrs., situated at Neil Kendra, Bharatpur Village, Shaheed Dweep, Sri Vijaya Puram Tehsil, South Andaman District. Mr. U.Partha Sarthi, learned advocate for the petitioner submits that on 03.09.2024 the petitioner submitted application for getting electricity connection in her dwelling house. However, till date the electricity connection has not been provided in the house of the writ petitioner.

He seeks for appropriate direction upon respondentauthorities to provide electricity to the petitioner at the earliest. Mr. S.C.Mishra, learned advocate for the respondent authorities submits that the since the application of the petitioner for grant of electricity connection is pending with the authorities, direction be issued for disposing the same in accordance with law. In view of such submission the respondent no. 3, Assistant Engineer (Shaheed Dweep) Electricity Department, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, Sri Vijaya Puram is directed to consider and dispose of the application of the petitioner dated 03.09.2024 for grant of electricity connection in her dwelling house within a period of four weeks from the date of communication of this order. Learned advocate for the petitioner is directed to communicate this order to the Assistant Engineer (Shaheed Dweep) Electricity Department, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, Sri Vijaya Puram.

With the aforesaid direction this writ petition being WPA/232/2025 is disposed of.

Interim order, if any, stands vacated.

All connected application, if any, stand disposed of. Urgent Photostat certified copy of this order if applied for be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all necessary formalities.
