This is an application praying for a direction upon the respondent no.2 to consider the representation of the petitioner for renewal of license as a petition writer.

Affidavit of service filed on behalf of the petitioner is taken on record.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner was granted license as a petition writer in the South Andaman District on 01st day of December, 2014. Thereafter, the license was renewed from time to time till 31st December, 2020. Before expiry of the license, the petitioner prayed for its renewal on 02nd December, 2020. Yet, the said representation was not considered by the respondent no.2. Thereafter, the writ petitioner gave reminder for consideration of his representation on 15th February, 2021. In fact, he had to issue a legal notice in this regard thereafter. Petition writing has been the only avocation of the petitioner since 2014. In the interest of justice, the respondent no.2 may be directed to consider the representation of the petitioner in this regard within a stipulated time.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents, in his usual fairness, submits that the respondent no.2 would consider the representation of the petitioner as may be directed by this Court.

I have heard the submission of the learned counsels for the petitioner and the respondents and have perused the application. It appears that the petitioner was granted license of petition writer in the year 2014. The license was renewed from time to time. During validity of such license, the petitioner made a representation for renewal of the same.

Therefore, it would only be in the interest of justice that the respondent no.2 considers the representation of the petitioner with expedition.

The respondent no.2 is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner for renewal of the license of petition writer as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of one month from the date of communication of this order. With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of usual necessary formalities.
