This writ petition is filed seeking for a direction upon the respondent authorities to provide electricity connection in the dwelling house of the petitioner.

The petitioner contends that he applied for getting electricity connection in his dwelling house situated at Survey No. 208, Chunna Bhatta, Hope Town village, Bambooflat, Ferrargunj Teshil, South Andaman District on 17.09.2024. However, till date the application of the petitioner for getting electricity connection has not been disposed of. Hence this writ petition. Learned advocate for the petitioner seeks for appropriate order directing respondents No. 2, Assistant Engineer, Electricity Department, Chouldari, Ferrargunj Tehsil to provide electricity connection in the dwelling house of the petitoner. Despite service none appears on behalf of the respondent authorities.

It is found that the petitioner has made an application on 17.09.2024 for getting electricity connection in his aforementioned dwelling house. However, it is informed by the learned advocate for the petitioner the same is pending with the respondent authorities till date.

In view of the above the respondent No. 2, Assistant Engineer, Electricity Department, Chouldari, Ferrargunj Tehsil is directed to consider and dispose of the application of the petitioner dated 17.09.2024 for getting electricity connection in his dwelling house within a period of one month from the date of communication of this order.

Learned advocate for the petitioner is directed to communicate this order to the respondent authorities for necessary compliance.

With the aforesaid direction the instant writ petition being WPA/234/2025 is disposed of.

Interim order, if any, stands vacated.

All connected application, if any, stand disposed of. Urgent Photostat certified copy of this order if applied for be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all necessary formalities.
