The appeal preferred against the said demolition order was disposed of by the Appellate Authority by an order dated May 3, 2025. The Appellate Authority remanded the matter back to the Secretary, Port Blair Municipal Council, with certain observations and directions.

The petitioner, who was the complainant before the municipal authority regarding unauthorized construction, submits that the Appellate Authority has not provided any time frame for disposal of the matter by the Council. I do not find any justification to keep the writ petition pending. It is only observed that, following the order passed by the Appellate Authority dated May 3, 2025, Sri Vijaya Puram Municipal Council, shall dispose of the matter as expeditiously

as possible without granting any unnecessary adjournments to the parties.

Needless to mention, this order shall not be construed as an observation or finding on the merits of the demolition order. Accordingly, WPA/268/2025 is disposed of.
